Dear arlo

I am a second generation Holocaust survivor. My mother’s entire family was killed during the Second World War and although my mother survived, that trauma stayed with her and had a profound impact on me.

The feelings generated by this as well as by the sudden and unexpected death of my husband at the age of 49 shaped my emotional life for years.

DEAR ARLO – letters to my grandson is my response to these circumstances through art, poetry, prose – even family recipes.

This is an exploration into the legacy of trauma and how it shapes ones identity. The book however does not only focus on trauma, it also celebrates the power of art and writing as a transformational and healilng tool and it looks at the wonder and magic of life.

A Whisper Across Time

A Whisper Across Time is my family’s story and experiences of the Holocaust told through, art, poetry and prose.

GRAFFITI ALPHABET

This is a book which celebrates the creativity and energy of a dynamic urban art form of a younger generation.
